WELBECK AND IWOBI TO MISS WEEKEND CLASH

Arsenal duo of Danny Welbeck and Alex Iwobi are set to miss the game against Lincoln when both sides meet in the FA Cup quarterfinal this weekend, according to reports.

There seems to be a sickness bug in the Arsenal camp, as the players seem to have caught onto the sickness that weighed down Mesut Ozil. Coach Arsene Wenger has confirmed that Welbeck and Iwobi would not be playing as they were both affected, even before the game against German side Bayern Munich in the round of 16 of the Champions League.

Ozil did not play the game against Liverpool due to the sickness. Now the three players would not feature when the Gunners battle to make the top four in the tournament they won two years ago.
“It’s possible at the moment, yes. We have a little problem in that front. I don’t know if it bad. The uncertainties [ahead of the Lincoln game] are Welbeck, who had to come off after the warm-up for sickness. The other one is Alex Iwobi on the day of the game. He couldn’t turn up for the same problem. Everyone else should be available,” Wenger announced.

Wenger said he was notified of the sicknesses on the matchday, Iwobi in the morning and Welbeck that afternoon.

“We tried to play him [against Bayern]. It could be a bug, I don’t know. I will leave the doctors to do their work. I haven’t decided yet [on Ozil playing]. He still felt not too well after the game. Now we will see in training how he feels,” Wenger added.

The French tactician added that he was yet to pick out the squad for Saturday. However, he says he would pick “the team that has a good chance to qualify.”
