Danny Welbeck

The return of Danny Welbeck to the Brighton and Hove Albion squad is a timely one after the Seagulls lost their way in terms of getting wins on board in the Premier League. They were on a run of eleven games without a win while Danny Welbeck was out of action due to a hamstring problem. As a matter of fact, the Seagulls didn’t win any Premier League game while Danny Welbeck was out of their squad due to injury.

His last game before the injury absence was the 2-1 home win over Leicester City andhe made his return as a second half substitute during the 2-0 home win over Brentford. The Seagulls didn’t win any game between the two aforementioned fixtures. Welbeck has made an instant impact for Brighton upon his return from injury.

His first game back was against the Bees and he was subbed on for Belgian forward Leandro Trossardat the start of the second half after the player picked up an injury in the first half. Trossard had scored the opener before going off injured while French striker Neal Maupay added a second goal to make it a 2-0 scoreline at the break. Brighton were able to maintain that scoreline with some last-ditfh defending until the final whistle.

Welbeck made his second appearance since his return from injury against home team Chelsea after coming on for the final ten minutes with the Blues leading 1-0 thanks to a first half header from star man RomeluLukaku. Danny Welbeck was an 80th minute replacement for Argentine player Alexis Mac Allister and he made his mark almost immediately with a very good header in the 91st minute off the good cross from Spanish left-back Marc Cucurella.

The goal from Welbeck ensured that Brighton got a well deserved point from the game.

Brighton and Hove Albion will be without five of their players ahead of the Premier League clash with hosts Southampton on Saturday evening. The quintet of Steven Alzate, Adam Lallana, Adam Webster, Danny Welbeck and Jeremy Sarmiento have all been ruled out of the Saints clash as Brighton target their first win in ten league games.

The Seagulls are on a run of nine games without a win in the league dating back to the 2-1 home win over Leicester City. Astonishingly, Brighton have drawn seven of the nine games from the aforementioned winless run. The Seagulls are the draw specialist in the Premier League this season with seven draws alongside Burnley, Crystal Palace and bottom club Newcastle United.

Danny Welbeck is one of the five Brighton absentees for the Southampton game and he has been out of action since sustaining a hamstring problem during the aforementioned Leicester City game. English striker Welbeck has missed the more than two months of Premier League football and he’s on course to return to the Brighton squad before New Year’s Day. Without Danny Welbeck in attack, Brighton have struggled for goals and that has affected their results in the last nine matches. The former Sunderland, Arsenal and Manchester United attacker has missed the last nine games. As a matter of fact, Brighton have not won a Premier League game since his injury.

Utility player Alzateis presently nursing an ankle problem and he’s expected to return to training in a few weeks according to the latest update on his injury from Brighton boss Graham Potter during his press conference earlier this week.

English defender Webster suffered a calf problem from the last Premier League game at West Ham United on Wednesday and he will miss the Southampton game as a result. Lallana and Sarmiento are also on the Brighton treatment table alongside Webster.

Danny Welbeck has been missing for Brighton since he sustained a hamstring problem in September. The England international has been missed in the Brighton attack mainly because of his work rate and goals. Brighton signed Danny Welbeck on a one-year deal in October 2020 and he was given a new contract after his impressive outings for the club over the course of last season.

The Seagulls have started the new Premier League campaign well with just two defeats in the first eleven (11) games. However, it must be pointed out that the wins have dried up recent weeks. Brighton have not won any of their last six games in the league since the 2-1 win at home to Europa League campaigners Leicester City almost two months ago.

The home draw with Newcastle United took the winless run at Brighton to six games. They have managed to stay in the top seven places on the Premier League log amidst the lengthy run of games without a single win.

For the Newcastle United game, the Seagulls were heavy favourites thanks to their good form this season and they took a first half lead when Belgian national team forward Leandro Trossard was brought down by Republic of Ireland international Ciaran Clark in the Newcastle United box. Trossard dispatched the penalty to give his team a slender lead at the break. Ex-Arsenal midfielder Isaac Hayden scored in the second half to ensure a share the spoils. Brighton ended the game with ten men after goalkeeper Roberto Sanchez was sent off in the closing minutes of the game.

Danny Welbeck was a major absentee as Brighton and Hove Albion were convincingly beaten by holders Manchester City in their Premier League clash at the weekend. Without Danny Welbeck in their squad, Brighton lost 4-1 to the Premier League champions.

Brighton and Hove Albion striker Danny Welbeck is a doubt for the Arsenal game in the Premier League this weekend. Danny Welbeck could miss the league clash against his former club as a result of the injury he picked up during the Crystal Palace game on Monday night. Welbeck was an Arsenal player for a period of five years between 2014 and 2019 on the back of his move from Manchester United. He left Arsenal to join Watford on a free transfer two years ago. The England international spent one year with the Hornets before Brighton signed him as a free agent in October 2020.

Danny Welbeck was one of two Brighton players who had to leave the M-23 league derby with Palace due to injury. Apart from Welbeck, Stephen Alzatewas the other player who suffered an injury at Selhurst Park earlier this week. English striker Danny Welbeck was given a well deserved rest against Welsh team Swansea City in the third round of the Carabao Cup. Brighton and Hove Albion manager Graham Potter left Danny Welbeck and some other big hitters like Neal Maupay, Lewis Dunk and Leandro Trossard out of his squad for the home clash with their Championship opponents. Despite resting a lot of their first players, Brighton still had enough quality to see off Swansea City easily and book a place in the fourth round.

Republic of Ireland international Aaron Connolly scored twice in the first half to lead the Seagulls to a 2-0 win over Swansea City and a place in the last 16 of the Carabao Cup. Connolly scored two times within five minutes to decide the third round tie in the favour of Brighton. The Irish striker opened the scoring on 33 minutes before he completed his brace five minutes later to ensure that the Seagulls led 2-0 at the break. Brighton and Hove Albion striker Danny Welbeck has revealed his plans for the new season and of course, it includes stepping up from the previous campaign. The striker has revealed that above everything else, he desires to have a better campaign than he did the last time for the club and he also really wants to be active in the quest for Brighton to maintain their Premier League status. Welbeck has not really been as big as he would have wanted for Brighton and he says that his continued injury problems have played a part in making him cut a frustrated figure at the club; something he really wants to change.

The former Arsenal striker has revealed recently to the club’s official website that he already has a couple of plans for the new season and that he is willing to work as hard as possible so that he can achieve all his plans as well. Speaking to the club’s official website, Welbeck said that firstly, the urge to have a better campaign than what he had last season is only natural for him because he is always hungry to be a better player than his previous self.

He added that another reason is the fact that Brighton have been patient enough to see to it that he is carefully taken care of whenever he is injured and that, coupled with the fact that the manager puts some trust in him, makes him want to repay the faith in multiple folds

Brighton opened their season with an impressive 2-1 win away from home as they defeated Burnley on the opening weekend of the new English Premier League season. They will be hoping that they can continue in that manner and will also be hoping that Welbeck picks up some remarkable firm as they will be needing his goalscoring instincts.

Danny Welbeck was sure that England will cause Italy a lot of problems in the final of the Euro 2020 tournament but the Brighton and Hove Albion striker didn’t get his prediction right after the Italians saw off England manager Gareth Southgate and his players to win their second title in the history of the competition.

Brighton attacker Danny Welbeck told Sky Sports before the Euro 2020 final that the Three Lions will pose a lot of issues for Italy to solve. In the end, Danny Welbeck was incorrect as England hardly laid a glove on their Euro 2020 final opponents except in the opening minutes of the game. Italy dominated proceedings for the majority of the game and rightfully emerged as the winner to seal a first title since 1968 (53 years ago).

England took a stunning lead at the start of the game with the Italians through Manchester United defender Luke Shaw who was one of the best fullbacks at the tournament. The ex-Southampton left-back gave England the lead inside two minutes with a left-footed finish at the back post off the cross from Atletico Madrid defender Kieran Trippier. Three Lions of England manager Gareth Southgate started the Euro 2020 final with wingbacks and he was vindicated when right wingback Trippier crossed the ball for left wingback Shaw to produce a fine finish and give the host nation the lead in the Euro 2020 final clash played at the Wembley Stadium.

Southgate and his players could not build on the goal from Shaw which was the fastest in the history of the Euro final as they retreated thus giving up possession to the Italians. Italy dominated the game for the final hour of the first half and the second half. Juventus centre back Leonardo Bonucci scored the equaliser for Italy in the middle of the second half as the pressure mounted on the England defence by the four-time world champions eventually paid off. Italy and England were almost inseparable in extra time thus leading to penalties which the Italians won 3-2 to claim a big title.
