TERRY AND WELBECK REACTS AS WILSHERE CONFIRMS ARSENAL APPOINTMENT

John Terry and Danny Welbeck were amongst those to reply to Jack Wilshere on Instagram after it was confirmed that the retired midfielder is new head coach of the under-18s at Arsenal. It has been an eventful few days for Wilshere. He recently confirmed that he has hung up his boots after a brief stint in Denmark. Obviously, the news will have upset many. Few English players in recent years seemed to possess the same natural talent and ability as Wilshere. Unfortunately, injury prevented the 30-year-old from realising his full potential.

But the news is now bittersweet as it has allowed Wilshere to start a new chapter in his career. And it sees him return to Arsenal. Coaching has looked to be on the cards for Wilshere for some time. Before he signed for AGF this year, he was spending time at London Colney working with Mikel Arteta. He also got the opportunity to help with some of the younger age groups. And it appears that he made a real impression while there. Wilshere has taken to Instagram to confirm that he is the new head coach for the Gunners’ under-18s. He expressed his gratitude for being given the chance, and the excitement he has about the role. Continue reading TERRY AND WELBECK REACTS AS WILSHERE CONFIRMS ARSENAL APPOINTMENT

BRIGHTON’S ‘MISSING PIECE’ TRANSFER COULD EASE PRESSURE THIS DUO

Deniz Undav is one of the most prolific players in front of goal in Europe this season, with 27 goals and 13 assists in all competitions in Belgian football. A total of 51 goals and 21 assists in his past two years in Belgium makes for a very exciting talent. So what will he bring to the Premier League?

Undav was signed by Brighton from Union SG in January 2022 for a fee of around £6 million and sent back on loan for the rest of the 2021/22 season with the Jupiler Pro League side. Many question marks were raised over signing a 25-year-old from a league that is not particularly well known to most English football fans. However, many top-class Belgian League players have broken into and excelled in the Premier League. Continue reading BRIGHTON’S ‘MISSING PIECE’ TRANSFER COULD EASE PRESSURE THIS DUO

YVES BISSOUMA CALL MADE AND DANNY WELBECK STATEMENT

Brighton and Hove Albion’s record-breaking Premier League season came to a close as Graham Potter’s men beat West Ham 3-1 at The Amex Stadium. The Seagulls reached a club best 51 points in the Premier League, finishing ninth. After such an impressive season, fans will be counting the days until the Premier League starts again, and there was plenty to suggest in the game against West Ham that another memorable season is on the cards.
Graham Potter’s side finished just five points off West Ham in seventh, which will give them great belief they can push into Europe next season. Having lost six games in a row this season as well, avoiding another dire run like that could be all they need to do to secure their place.

Tariq Lamptey
A brief cameo against West Ham showed everyone why Tariq Lamptey is held in such high regard. Both defensively and offensively Lamptey shone in the little time he was on. One incredible block, hurling himself in front of a goal-bound Aaron Cresswell effort, was followed by a marauding run forwards, lifting the ball perfectly onto Danny Welbeck’s head. Lamptey is special. Without the injuries he could be a key player for Brighton next season.

DANNY WELBECK PROVEN RIGHT OVER LEEDS UNITED PREDICTION

Danny Welbeck said it was a bitter pill to swallow to concede a late equaliser against Leeds United, especially as they prepared for Jesse Marsch’s “aggressive” side so well. It looked like the 31-year-old’s first-half goal was going to be the difference at Elland Road but Pascal Struijk’s header in second-half stoppage time ensured the game ended 1-1. Arguably, Albion should have been out of sight as good chances came and went for Moises Caicedo, Solly March, Pascal Gross, Alexis Mac Allister, Tariq Lamptey, and Welbeck again.

While Robert Sanchez pulled off some excellent saves to deny Raphinha and Mateusz Klich, Graham Potter’s men had many opportunities to put the contest to bed but were unable to do so. Even though Leeds had 19 shots to the Seagulls’ 15, and it was 50-50 for possession, Welbeck felt it was two points dropped rather than a point gained. The former Manchester United striker, who was booed as he previously played for Leeds’ rivals, said his teammates did well to exploit the opposition’s weaknesses but to not get the win was tough to take. WELBECK SCORES FOURTH LEAGUE GOAL

Brighton and Hove Albion striker Danny Welbeck is now on four goals in the Premier League this season after he found the back of the net during the draw with Southampton in the South Coast Derby. Danny Welbeck was able to make his mark on the derby after finding the back of the net with the opening goal of the game. The attacker scored the opener inside two minutes to give the Seagulls a dream start at the expense of the Saints.

The Seagulls came into the Southampton game on the back of a 3-0 defeat at holders Manchester City which put an end to their three-match unbeaten run in the league, while Southampton played Brighton on the back of the 2-0 defeat at Burnley.

As mentioned earlier, Danny Welbeck gave Brighton the lead in the second minute with his fourth league goal of the season as he pounced on the error from Fraser Forster in the Saints goal. Welbeck also had a hand in the second Brighton goal just before the halftime interval as he forced Southampton defender Mohammed Salisu to score in his own net off the assist from Belgian attacker Leandro Trossard.

Southampton started the fightback in the fourth minute of added time in the first half courtesy the well-taken freekick from England international James Ward-Prowse. The Englishman was able to pull one back for the Saints thus providing the platform to rescue a point for his team with the second Saints goal of the game in the second half.

Ward-Prowse has now scored 14 goals via free kicks in the Premier League to move further clear in second behind English football icon David Beckham who scored 18 free kick goals during his time in the English top flight.

England international Ward-Prowse scored his second goal of the game after nine second half minutes to ensure that the away game with Brighton ended in a 2-2 draw.

WELBECK HANDED RARE START AGAINST ARSENAL

Brighton & Hove Albion striker Danny Welbeck was given a rare start at former club Arsenal in the Premier League last week. When he was not injured this season, Danny Welbeck has played second fiddle to Frenchman Neal Maupay in the Brighton attack as manager Graham Potter has opted for him to lead the line ahead of the Englishman.
For the away game against the Gunners, Danny Welbeck started in the Brighton attack alongside Belgian international Leandro Trossard, while the abovementioned Maupay was left on the bench.

Brighton boss Potter opted for Welbeck ahead of Maupay after his team went on a run of seven Premier League outings without a win. The Seagulls went on a in-game losing run which came to an end with the goalless draw at home to bottom team Norwich City. The decision to go with Welbeck paid off for Potter and Brighton after they won their first game in eight meetings thanks to the 2-1 win over Arsenal. ARSENAL CAN SIGN THEIR NEW DANNY WELBECK THIS SUMMER

Arsenal have been backed to pull off the signing of Manchester United star Marcus Rashford – repeating the deal which saw them buy Danny Welbeck from the Red Devils. Rashford is reportedly considering his future at United due to a lack of game time. And Arsenal has been suggested as a potential destination for the England international.

Rashford has started just nine Premier League matches this season, with four goals to his name. His contract expires in the summer of 2023, though United do have their customary option to extend it by a further year. Speculation around the future of a player of Rashford’s stature understandably leads to people wondering which club he would suit. WELBECK TALKS UP POSSIBLE SUMMER MOVE

Brighton and Hove Albion striker Danny Welbeck has continued to appear as one name that will keep getting mentioned as a possible transfer target ahead of this summer. The former England international striker has reportedly been told that he should start looking for another club this summer as Brighton are trying to make a major squad overhaul in the next transfer window. Although those reports have been countered by other ones that suggest that the striker is happy at the club and that the Gulls still want him around, those rumors will, of course, still be making the rounds regardless.

Welbeck was part of the squad that recently took a trip to Old Trafford, the home turf of his former employers, but he was not able to stop his side from suffering defeat as the Red Devils managed to score two second half goals to register a 2-0 win over the visitors. Although Welbeck was not in the starting lineup, he was a very bright introduction to the match as he caused some troubles for David de Gea but his efforts were always going to be denied by the Spanish number one shot-stopper.

Welbeck has been a fans’ favorite at Brighton since he joined them from Watford some months ago, helping them score some important goals even though he has been battling to stay fit and remain in good form. He was linked with a winter transfer move to Fulham last month but it was always certain that the deal would not go through as he was still battling some niggling injuries.

When asked about his future recently, Welbeck said that although he loves Brighton and their fans, anything can happen really fast and at anytime. However, he said he would have to wait till the end of the season to decide his future.

THE UNDISPUTED KING OF COMEBACK GOALS

Danny Welbeck may not have had the dream career that he would have loved, but there’s no denying that he’s not a proper striker. The Brighton man has an air of inevitability around him that makes him pop up with comeback goals when you least expect him to.

The 31-year-old came on for a league game in which Brighton was losing by a lone goal scored by Lukaku. Brighton had been decent for the entirety of the game and looked like they were going to leave Stamford Bridge empty-handed. Until Welbeck came up with a massive leap that left both Rudiger and Chalobah in his wake to power a header past Mendy. Before the game, the ex-Manchester United man had missed 14 games with a hamstring injury.

Is that the first time that Welbeck would score a late goal from his return from an injury? Hell no! Back in 2016 when he was still playing for Arsenal. The Gunnars needed a goal to keep their title charge alive in a game locked at one apiece against Leicester City. On came Welback from an eight-month injury to score the winner right at the death of the game.

Injuries have plagued Danny Welbeck’s career having missed over 150 games directly because of injuries. If there’s one man with the right mentality to get back up and keep fighting, then it has to be Danny Welbeck. He’s a hard worker both on and off the pitch, often sacrificing himself for the greater good of his team.

Now with a chance at Brighton to make something of what is left of his career, Danny Welbeck won’t go down without a fight. Graham Potter’s side is almost as tough as the Englishman, with Brighton scoring four equalizing goals beyond the 89th minute this season alone.
