Arsene Wenger says Team will miss Danny

Arsene Wenger says that it would be impossible not to miss a player of Danny Welbeck’s stature.

The former Manchester United forward recently returned to the first team action after almost 8 months on the sidelines. Welbeck almost became the forgotten man at the Emirates stadium due to this injury. However, he has already made a huge mark in the club’s campaign after scoring in the games against Watford, Everton, and Leicester. His goals have helped Arsenal get seven points in the league over the last month alone. The forward has already racked up three goals in five league appearances.

He scored the opening goal against Everton after just seven minutes. This helped lift a lot of pressure away from Arsene Wenger’s team. Arsenal have especially been under a cloud of criticism following their back-to-back defeats in 2 cup competitions. Losses against Hull City and Barcelona mean that Arsenal are once again left to be happy with Champions League qualification. Even though Wenger still retains hope of winning the title, the result against Everton only helps Arsenal in buoyant mood of the top three place. Rivals Manchester City lost in their derby against United and Arsenal have been able to extend their advantage over City to 4 points.

“You cannot say you don’t miss a player of that stature for eight months. He can make a real difference in the final eight games. He’s still not over his knee problems, we know we have to be cautious with him. I pushed it because I knew it was now or never.I know this team has put a lot of work in since the start.I know how much dedication this team has put in and I want them to be rewarded. I know we have gone through a difficult period,” said Wenger after the 2-0 win over Everton.
