MOYES STARTS

David Moyes will officially start working as Manchester United boss from tomorrow and the first thing which he will have to deal with is Wayne Rooney Saga.

Rooney’s relationship with the former United manager Sir Alex Ferguson had soured in the second half of the last season and at the end of the season, Rooney had handed a transfer request to the club officials.

However, there have been reports that the 27 years old striker is looking to make a fresh start under the new manager Moyes who had managed him at Everton too.

A lot of clubs have shown interest in Rooney after knowing that he wants to leave United this summer. Chelsea, Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain are among those clubs.

United would not want to let Rooney go at a small amount. They are reportedly seeking 30 million Pounds as transfer fee. Only PSG is likely to pay them that much amount, but, it’s hard to imagine that Rooney would move to France with his young family.

Moyes has to finalize some other deals as well. He is keen to bring the Everton defender Leighton Baines at Old Trafford, but, for that he will have to increase his bid of 12 Million Pounds.

The Barca midfielder Thiago Alcantara is another player who is on the radar of United. Although, Barca has offered him a contract extension but, he is not likely to accept that. He wants to make a move this summer in search of more playing chances.

United is not the only club which is interested in Thiago. The German club Bayern Munich is also in the race. Now, it would be interesting to see where the Spanish midfielder opts to go.

Apart from making new signings, United is looking to offload some players as well. The experienced trio of Nani, Patrice Evra and Nemanja Vidic is set to be sold this summer.
